WASHINGTON (7News) — A small zip-lock bag filled with a substance that field tested positive as cocaine was found inside a heavily trafficked area of the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Headquarters, according to a statement from the agency.
Officials said they are looking to find out why the one-inch by one-inch bag was found in a second-floor hallway at around 1 p.m. Wednesday. USCP said they will perform DNA and other forms of testing on the baggie.
The area is heavily trafficked by contractors and employees and often serves as a staging place for furniture and supplies, according to a statement.
The baggie's location was near several offices too, including Prisoner Processing, Crime Scene, Intel, and Reports Processing, officials said.
